HOW POLITICIANS CREATE INSECURITY IN SOUTHEAST
By ~ Oguwuike Kelechi Chukwuezi
A well known politician secretly contacted a Private Security Agent (PSA), (a top ranking officer in one of the government security forces who does dirty jobs) to do a dirty deal for him which is to eliminate one of his opposition politicians.
He clearly told the PSA guy to first take him captive for weeks, make him suffer then demand ransom from his family, wether they pay or not ensure he’s wasted in a way it will appear as though it is the handiwork of kidnappers so it never be seen as political assassination by the public. The politician warned the PSA guy to ensure his boys did a clean job and get rid of the honorable member standing against his directives in the state.
Now, price for this deal, the PSA guy said 20 million for the job. The politician bargained for 10 million. The PSA guy refused and said 10 million won’t be enough to cover for logistics, acquiring ammunition, intelligence gathering and surveillance, motivating his boys who would bring other third party high assassins to join in the job. Lastly, they agreed on 18.5 million.
Advance of 9.2 million was paid into a third party account through a proxy third part account too, to hide it’s destinations.
One or two months later, news broke out how one honourable member of the house was gruesomely murdered weeks after he was reported missing and a 100 million ransom paid by his family for his release.
The internet broke that day. It became the talk of the town. Opinions were flying everywhere online. Yariba Media houses kept publishing the story twice every day for one week.
Immediately, Otellectuals began to wail online how insecurity is ravaging their once peaceful Southeast pointing accusing fingers on those agitating for Biafra to be responsible for eliminating an Igbo family man whom they must have seen as a saboteur to their agitation because he’s a politician.
Without any investigation, they kept accusing IPOB/ESN saying they must be held accountable for such wickedness. The government security forces releases a press statement confirming the murder and promising to go after those hoodlums. Narratives were flying everywhere. People began to spread posts that says Biafra agitators killed a politician in Southeast. They believed it is true.
Months later, the dead body of this honourable member was found at a place controlled by notorious security operatives who mount check points and road blocks in those areas for security reasons. Suddenly, the state’s security outfit within two days of discovery of the decomposing body of the slain politician, arrested a group of hoodlums, paraded them and made them confess to their criminal activities including the kidnap and murder of the said honourable member.
The internet broke loose again. Opinions started flying everywhere once again. Those who accused IPOB/ESN in the first news started changing the narratives still blaming IPOB for creating insecurity in the Southeast that gave rise to what is happening. They blamed Nnamdi Kanu, blamed agitators and yet refused to ask critical questions.
Meanwhile, the government charges these hoodlums to court to face the law. Nobody asked the question of who contracted these kidnappers in the first place. Remember, those government security operatives handling the case are all working under this top ranking PSA guy who knew who knew who contracted those boys.
Last last, those boys will be sentenced to prison by the court. Meanwhile, the politician and the PSA guy continue living large and even upgrade their politicking to the next level. After 2 months, everything becomes a forgotten folklore.
The government moves on. The people move on. The bereaved family will mourn him and still move on. Life continues like it never happened. The dead continues to cry for justice while the culprits walk with tight government security details. The society keeps deteriorating and the blame on Nnamdi Kanu, IPOB/ESN continues.
Very very sad indeed.
