My name is Metu Ezinwanne Chimankpa, popularly known as CHYMA.

I came from the family of Mr Festus Metu of Okwelle Amauzari, Isiala Mbano in Imo State Nigeria.
I studied Applied Microbiology and Brewery in Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka Anambra state (2009). I did my Senior Secondary School at Senior Science and Computer Studies Seminary Ezihe Imo State where I acquired my Senior School Certificate (2004). I did my Junior Secondary School at Archdeacon Dennis Junior Seminary School Mbieri Imo State where I acquired my Junior School Certificate (2001). My Primary Education was done at Central School Amauzari in Imo State where I got my First School Leaving certificate (1998).

I started involving my self in Music as a little boy playing drums in the church services at my home church St John’s (Ang) Church Amauzari, there with much commitment I became a professional drummer that played in many gospel band groups eg LIBRATION GOSPEL BAND, RESSURECTION GOSPEL BAND and many others. Later when the band master discovered my melodious voice gave me the opportunity to lead songs in church services, there I started my career as vocalist (2008) and I sang in so many programs with my band groups.

In 2012 I decided to take music as a Career and Profession when I travelled to Abidjan Cote d’ivoire. There devieted from GOSPEL and started a three man group called AFRO NEGGERS we had two albums ZAMWOLOLO (2014) and LES PLUS FORT (2016).

In 2018 there was this need that I return back to gospel music because in life once you are destined to work for God you can never run away from it. So when God came demanding for me I had to answer because he is the owner of my Soul.

I waited for the right time and here it is, in August 2019 I released my First Gospel single track (ODOGWU) an Afro beat Praise song to the Glory of God almighty.

I give all glory to God for his blessings and protection all these while, MAY HIS NAME ALONE BE HONOURED.
