We need to tell the younger ones that at no time was Nigeria easy. When a brand new car was 2,200 Naira, it wasn’t a tea party to acquire one.
I read comments that some of us think that buying a car of 2,200 in 1974 was very easy. No, untrue.
Not everyone in Lagos could majestically walk into this Kingsway store to buy shoes for their kids.
I can categorically say that there were folks living in Lagos who never stepped their feet into any of those big department stores till they went under.
We need to let them know this.
Am not saying things easy today but never has it been easy.
It wasn’t easy at all.
