Police in Ogun state have arrested a 35-year-old housewife, Blessing Agoro, for allegedly selling her two daughters for N300,000.

Blessing’s husband, Oluwaseyi, returned from a journey on Tuesday, June 8, and could not find his two daughters, Deborah, aged 2, and Semilore (4).

His wife refused to tell him the whereabouts of the children, as a result of which he reported to the police.

She told police that her husband left home for the past two years, and while he was away, she found it difficult to cater for the two children alongside two other children she had for another man.

She, therefore, through a middle man, Kolawale, sold the two daughters for N300,000 to a couple in need of children in Port Harcourt.

While the police are working to rescue and bring back the kids as soon as possible, Blessing and Kolawale will soon appear in court for child trafficking.
